|Terry, like most artists, has been passionate about art and
being creative since being old enough to hold a pencil in her
hand. She is interested in colour, light, shapes, and the
relationship between objects and space. “Art is all about visual
perception and I like to interpret this in whatever I paint whether
it is a landscape or a still life.
|Artists become trained in observing the world around them and this occupational hazard has left me with the inability to go
anywhere without wondering how I would paint that?” Her mediums of choice are Acrylic, watercolour, pastel, and printmaking
and she especially enjoys painting plein air.
|Initially trained in art school in London, Ontario and furthered her studies at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto and McKay
Art Center and Varley Art Gallery in Unionville, Ontario. Terry was a former member of the Markham Group of Artists before
moving to Victoria in 2001 where she earned her BA in History of Art at the University of Victoria.
She has been an active member of the Victoria Sketch Club including producing the Club’s annual spring show in 2013 and
2014 and more recently has become responsible for the Club's plein air and Fall and Winter programs.
